So you came for the first consultation, explored and expressed your inner being, and could see yourself as you are without any masks. And based on your centre, we have given you a medicine which matches exactly with it and also scheduled you for your next follow-up. Now what? How do we take this healing journey further?
Self witnessing process continued – Getting in touch with your inner subconscious being is like creating a ripple on the still waters, the ripples will travel far and wide even after the initial stimulus is withdrawn. The Homoeopathic interview is that deep, initial stimulus which touches your being, and helps it to express itself; not just during the interview but long afterwards. In a bid to absorb these after-effects we advise you to keep noting whatever surfaces from your being on the same day or even for a few days after the first consultation.
Be with yourself for half an hour or so on that day and see if –
- Just after your interview, be with yourself for half an hour. If you feel like doing anything (a sudden spontaneous desire which cropped up) – drinking, sleeping, walking, eating something, etc inform us.
- Take a walk on the same day and be with yourself
- Do that activity which you enjoy the most, at least once, on the day of your interview.
- Did anything get aggravated on physical, mental or emotional levels?
- Note if any thought or emotion surfaces about which you may not have spoken during the interview.
- Mark whether a thought or emotion which came up during the interview has stayed with you.
- Make a note of your dreams, which you see either on the same day or in the next few days. Mark what was the most important or striking part of the dream and what was your feeling behind it.
And let us know if any of the above things emerge.
Follow-ups – We will be giving you medicines in the form of powders and/or solution and pills. When medicine is selected by a holistic approach, it brings changes holistically. You can make note of the changes under the following divisions –
A. On the physical level:

- Any new symptoms developed
- Any old symptoms or a previous complaint, (which was not there during the CWP), has reappeared

- Overall energy level
B. On mental and emotional levels:
- Any changes in your thought process and perception?
- Changes in your stress, anxiety, fear, anger, behavior pattern

- Any new interest or hobby you felt like pursuing?
- Any change in the way you cope with your day to day stress?
- Any change in the way you now see your illness?
- Any difference in the way you see the incident which had affected you deeply?
C. On a holistic level:
- Any shift in your holistic state, or the pattern which had emerged during the CWP?
- Any awareness you might have reached about your innate state?
- DREAMS:
- If any new dreams came up or
- Any changes in the previous repetitive dreams and the feelings associated with it

**We advise you to make a personal diary where you can write all your daily observations and narrate them to us when you come for your follow-ups.
In this healing process, the present symptoms of the disease may intensify temporarily, but the pathology remains same or reduces. However it is a temporary, self limiting phenomenon which assures the physician that the healing process is on the right track. This occurrence known as ‘exteriorization’ in Homoeopathy is nothing but an indication of removal of the disease from the roots, which is the very essence of the science. However it is crucial to be in touch with us at this stage to minimize discomfort.
“Doctor, I understand about my chronic illness, but what about acute complaints like fevers, cold, cough, headaches, stomach upsets etc which I might suffer from during the course of the treatment?” The role of Homeopathy in acute illnesses is three-fold –
- One, it reduces the discomfort and cures the complaint or the infection in the most soothing and holistic way, without the fear of side- effects. So, not just your temperature decreases but your appetite also improves, you start sleeping better and there is an inner sense of well- being.
“But doesn’t Homeopathy take time to act? Can it provide me rapid relief?”Yes, definitely! It is a myth that Homeopathy needs longer duration to act; the right medicine in the right amount will produce the right results instantaneously. The pace with which it can cure can only be experienced when you take Homeopathy in acute complaints! - Secondly, Homeopathy prevents recurrent episodes of the same illness. It trains your own army (the immune system) to fight off the invaders, rather than borrow an army from others (the allopathic mode of treatment), which would just weaken your army. With each subsequent attack you need stronger doses of antibiotics, anti- malarial medicines etc. But, with the Homeopathic way, your own defence system gets trained to fight its own battles and hence the intensity and frequency of acute illnesses goes down. So try to avoid allopathic medicines as much as possible.
- Further, the acute illness also provides us a window to peek into your sub- conscious realm. For homoeopathic physicians, an acute is an intensified manifestation of a patient’s state and hence it is easier for us to recognize your inner state, as it is right on the surface. An acute will thus, give us confirmation of our prescription or it will give us a glimpse of the correct remedy.
The following observations made by you, help us to treat you in acute illnesses –
- Note the chief complaint in terms of – the location, the factors which increase or decrease the complaint, associated symptoms along with the complaint
- Changes at the physical level – for e.g., appetite, thirst, activity and energy levels, any food and drink craving which has come up, any change in your perspiration patterns, etc. any bodily sensation that has developed with the episode
- Changes at Emotional and mental levels – any thoughts or emotions which have surfaced, any fears, anxieties, mood changes that have cropped up, any behavioral changes in case of children, etc
- Dreams, during and even before the illnesses
- In case of fever, note down the temperature and its distribution in the body parts – which parts are relatively hot or cold, periodicity of fever, perspiration pattern and distribution, behaviour or mood during fever.
- The probable causes of the onset of the acute illness.
